Call of Duty: Commercial Military Recruitment?

Ah, the Call of Duty Series.. Late nights up, playing with your comrades on Saturday. It all seems cool right? I mean, where else can you shoot other simulated people that makes it look like blood coming out of someone's chest just by pressing a console button? Well this may be alright for the older population, but what about children aged 5 - 15? Over the past few years, I've seen many children within these age groups constantly playing these games and making the military life seem like the greatest job on Earth. But has this gone too far? Go onto Youtube and type in "Call of Duty Modern Warfare Trailer." Doesn't it seem awesome? That's exatly what ran through my head after watching. For quite a while now, more kids want to join the military just from the influence of the "live free, die hard" projection that these games are giving. Crashing planes into buildings, setting off bridge bombs, running a special ops mission in a Muslim country.. And we blame the terrorists for not being peaceful? You could write a war manuscript through these games and it's being sent in the wrong message through the younger generation's minds. War is a terrible, even in history, and should not be aimed towards the younger poulace as some bad-ass Rambo style lifestyle that has no casualties. Families are torn apart and people slaughtered in real life and it's supposed to be "okay" in the simulated world? I'll let you be the judge of that.
War is war. Death is death. And no video game can make that sparkle.

Why blame the game creators? Yes you the consumer know what you're buying but here's the other thing where does the parent come into this? A child can't buy the game unless accompanied by an adult. Another thing is everyone gets mad at the problem that its the game creators fault and that it sends a bad message. Right? Wrong! Where is the parent's sense I grew up around these games when I was a kid and I know my parents weren't paying attention when the bought them but I still played them. It comes to the parents responisbility on raising their child and if you don't want your child thinking that they can be gun toating warriors take them out to the shooting range and see if they can actually pull the trigger. Reality tests work better than a parent's Trust me don't do that speech.
the games are rated 18 for a reason dont like your kids playing it dont get it for them + im a 19 year who has been playing them since i was like 15 and they havnt effected me in a way which makes me think war is good fun. i know its a game, games have no effect on normal people if its effecting your kid get them to a psychiatrist

I agree. These games have taken the wrong message of conflict and have sent it to our children. hopefully they realize the horrors of these games and proper measures should be taken by the parents.
