Nationalized Healthcare: A Touchy Topic

Health care has always been a sensitive issue ever since the presidency of Franklin D. Roosevelt. The issue has mostly been divided between the quarrels of Liberal Democrats and Conservative Republicans. However, many have not take into thought on what health care will actually do as well as how it is to operate in an impartial manner.

Government sponsored health care (or nationalized health care) is the free treatment of the sick, elderly, and anyone who requires proper medication or medical care by the government. Now when I say "free," in a sense it is not. Most of the funding comes from the taxpayers dollars. Many argue that nationalized health care should not come to be, mainly because it gives the government more control while others call it a right to a country's citizens. However, many well off countries such as Norway and many other nations worldwide have government sponsored health care and built their economies around them.

So what's the problem with health care? What's wrong with the current insurance companies as well as medicare and medicaid? Well the current problem with current insurance corporations is the rules and intense bureaucracy that lies withing the insurance policies sold by them. Situations as missing a payment, having a pre-existing condition and much, much, more, can exclude you from coverage, heavy fines, or even make you loose your home. For what? Being sick? These major reasons are what spark tension upon Americans.

What about Medicare and Medicaid? What could seem wrong with them? After former President Lyndon B. Johnson signed both into law, they immediately put a heavy drain on the taxpayer's dollar and often had wide loopholes that led to major losses of money. The irony in these bills is that they are under the government. So what's wrong with them? Well, over the years, the expenses for the government to provide certain care has skyrocketed so much that it is in as much danger as Social Security; as with the prices rising, the larger co-pay and deductibles are being charged upon their users.

Neo-Conservatives's stand on nationalized health care:

Many famous neo-republicans such as Sarah Palin and Newt Gingrich have been famous speakers against health care and have twisted it's purpose for the government to be this omnipotent machine that controls our lives. This is not true. Whether Democrat or Republican, the purpose for nationalized health care stays the same: health care for the people. Now, many people are frightened as I say "for the people." This mainly from the Red Scare that still exists today. Many think that this is related the the Communist takeover by ideas such as health care. And the truth? Get real.. This is mainly all hype of scaring the masses and really there is no downside if everything is done carefully and with cooperation of the people and government. But sometimes that is not possible. Certain states have responded by boycotting the health care OFFERED by the government, not to be misinterpreted as being forced upon the people. I have this to say: If people are afraid from what the neo-conservatives say, then I supposed the people don't need welfare, medicare, medicaid, or any other government service.

Overall, government health care is a wonderful idea and in due time, the American people will get to live and understand it's importance on their every day lives. After all, no one deserves to die or loose their home just because they cannot afford a vital trip to the doctor.

Wow, nice. I have to agree that Neo's can make it seem scary, but in essence, it's really nice to have social healthcare.
