Neo-Conservatism: Real Conservatism?

Is this real Conservatism?
There is a lot of talk on what's the difference between Neo-Conservatism and Conservatism, frankly, it sounds confusing to me as well. Let's start off with a simple question: what does "neo-" mean? Here is the definition:
neo-
- supporter of return to conservative values: somebody who, during the mid-1980s, began to support conservatism in society, and in politics in particular, as a reaction to the social freedoms sought throughout the 1960s and early 1970s
Now over the years, "social freedoms" have been stretched to unrealistic terms as a result of modernday events. Neo-conservatism is not to be confused with conservatism. Let me name several people who you might recognize as neo-conservative: Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, and a handful of other talk show hosts on Fox News Network to just name a few. Now, while many might find these people as "true hard-core Americans who fight against the evils of Communism," this is not true. Neo-Conservatism uses excuses and fear to enforce their ideas. Ex: Sarah Palin: "Obama-care will pull the plug on Grandma." Newt Gingrich: "Obama has become an anti-American socialist." Glenn Beck: "Obama is heading towards the Fascist regime with the bank bailouts."
Seems ridiculous, doesn't it? How do all of these things come into the reality of what really faces out nation? How about deficit, trade gap, two wars, and much, much
much more?
Conservatism on the other hand is a nice quality to have for any political background. If you're Democrat, you can use Conservatism to weed out what some people would find unethical. If you're Republican, it is what you revolve around. It is always to your benifit to have an open mind regardless of who's side you support.
However, there are also other "neo(s)-." There is neo-liberalism, neo-independent, neo-capitalist, neo-socialist, neo-anything! In short terms, "neo-" means "against so and so's doctrine." That is why if you were listen to a neo-democrat and a Democrat, you would be quite surprised on what the differences you would hear; same goes for other parties.
I personally do not have anything against any one who is neo-, but I generally try to stay clear and listen to unbiased truth. Which is why I would want to ask you this: Are you neo-? If so, what do you believe in?

True. People like beck is an ass and Palin is just coo-koo. These people spoil the real conservative cause (as a prominent conservative member). I never watch them and quite frankly, find it hard for others to bear what they say.. great artice, couldn't have said it better.
